BOOYAH Bait Co. has elevated the art of lure fishing with the introduction of the Flash Point Deep, an enhanced version of their successful Flash Point jerkbait. Set to redefine jerkbait fishing yet again, this new release dives deeper, designed specifically to engage bass residing farther down in the water column.
"The Flash Point jerkbait launched last year has already set a new standard among bass anglers due to its unique features and performance," said a spokesperson from BOOYAH Bait Co. With a blade welded atop its head, which they refer to as the "flash point," the original model provided a unique visual flash and an impressive return on forward-facing sonar, making it instantly popular amongst anglers.

With the initial success of the Flash Point, there was quickly a demand for a model that could target deeper fishing depths. Anticipating this need, the engineers at BOOYAH worked diligently to develop the ideal diving lip for the new Flash Point Deep, which is now available.

The Flash Point Deep dives down to 10 feet—four feet deeper than its predecessor while retaining all other critical features. "It maintains the same profile, finish, colors, swimming action, and suspending posture, including the hooks," said the BOOYAH representative, underscoring the consistency in performance across both models.

This new jerkbait is designed at 4.25 inches long and weighs 1/2 ounce, fitted with three ultra-sharp treble hooks. Available in a range of 12 color patterns, including natural baitfish imitations and attractor colors, the Flash Point Deep offers versatility and options for anglers targeting specific fish.
"The narrow profile and quick action appeal to fish, making it seem like an easy target," explained a seasoned angler familiar with the lure's mechanics. Notably, both Flash Point versions have been engineered to suspend at a 45-degree angle when paused, emulating a dying baitfish, a technique that has proven effective in enticing strikes.

However, the advantages of the Flash Point and Flash Point Deep extend beyond just forward-facing sonar applications. "Despite the focus on electronics, these lures are effective even without advanced gear," said an industry expert. The realistic look and erratic action of the lures work equally well from a boat or shore, making them adaptable for different fishing environments.

Added an experienced angler, "The tungsten weight-transfer system in these models allows for longer casts, essential in clear waters. It’s particularly helpful for shoreline or kayak fishing where casting mobility can be limited." This flexibility broadens the appeal of the Flash Point Deep to various fishing platforms.

Both models are primarily crafted for black bass, but their appeal has proven universal. "We saw anglers targeting species beyond bass right away," mentioned a sales executive at BOOYAH. The lure has gained popularity among those chasing striped bass, walleye, redfish, and speckled trout in both freshwater and saltwater. Many anglers have also reported positive results using the original Flash Point in a wide range of fishing conditions.

Jimmy Mason, a renowned bass pro, emphasized the complementary nature of the two lures, saying, "If I’m jerkbait fishing, I often have both the Flash Point and Flash Point Deep tied on. Different fish are suspended at different depths, so having both allows me to probe two zones effectively."
This strategy of utilizing both models can enhance an angler's catch rate without necessitating advanced tech. "For those without forward-facing sonar, these lures can help clarify which depths bass are active in," Mason continued. By providing options for different depth zones, these lures assist anglers in quickly discerning their fishing patterns.

Looking Ahead
The versatility and effectiveness of the Flash Point and Flash Point Deep means they provide year-round fishing opportunities. Whether faced with varying environmental conditions or different species, these lures have become indispensable in many anglers’ tackle boxes. The future looks bright as BOOYAH continues to innovate in their lure designs, keeping anglers excited and engaged with each new release.
