Picasso Lures has unveiled its latest innovation, the Shaky Vibe Head, aimed at enhancing the fishing experience for enthusiasts. This new product, inspired by renowned Lake Guntersville guide Lonnie Cochran, takes a unique approach to the popular methods already on the market. Rather than simply replicating existing designs, Picasso Lures strives to offer something distinctly different.
"I was looking at one of their illustrations and saw a worm standing straight up off the bottom with what I thought was a blade on the nose," said Cochran, explaining the genesis of his idea. The illustration that sparked the concept turned out to have a bullet weight laying sideways, but the idea took root nonetheless. "After I put my reading glasses on, I realized it was a bullet weight...but the idea stuck with me."

Upon crafting his idea, Cochran contacted Terry Monteleone, co-owner of Picasso Lures. His proposal initially met with silence, leading him to wonder if it had been a poor suggestion. "I thought that the idea must not be any good, because the only word I got was 'okay,'" he recalled. Yet, just days later, Monteleone returned with enthusiasm, ready to explore the innovative concept.

"I really thought that it sounded like a good idea, so we played with ways of putting it together," Monteleone said. Through several iterations, the Shaky Vibe Head was born—an innovative product that promises to add a new dimension to angling strategies.

The Shaky Vibe Head features a round ball shape, a screw lock for easy worm threading, and a circuit board blade attached at the line tie. These features come together to provide dynamic action to the bait, setting it apart from traditional options. It is available in varying weights—3/16, 1/4, and 3/8 ounces—each fitted with a 1x strong 5/0 Gamakatsu hook, in colors like plain, black, and green pumpkin. For those seeking a larger option, a “magnum” version in black and pumpkin is available, featuring stronger 2x 8/0 Gamakatsu hooks in sizes of 1/2, 5/8, and 3/4 ounces.
Cochran emphasizes the intended technique for the Shaky Vibe. "This should be fished on the bottom by shaking it and letting it rest, and after those two or three initial subtle movements, a pull/lift and fall movement will make the head vibrate," he explained. This vibration is designed to attract fish, with strikes often occurring when the blade begins to vibrate or as it descends back to the bottom. "It’s a great addition to my Brekley Maxscent Hitworms and the Fatty Bottom Hoppers on the larger sizes; it has really made a difference in my fishing," Cochran noted.
