Shimano North America has unveiled the Ledge Runner, a new entry into the world of trolling lures. This diving plug is engineered with the intention of transforming how anglers approach depth control, durability, and stability at high speeds while fishing for wahoo and tuna in offshore waters.
"With LEDGE RUNNER, our goal was to give offshore anglers a tool that adapts instantly to changing conditions," said Blaine Anderson, the Saltwater Marketing Manager for Shimano North America Fishing. The Ledge Runner is available in two sizes—160F and 200S—both of which come equipped with an Adjustable Depth Range (ADR) system. This feature allows anglers to easily modify their trolling depth on the fly.

In addition to the ADR system, each size is outfitted with Hydro Control Wing (HCW) stabilization technology, ensuring that the lures maintain a straight trajectory even when being trolled at high speeds. The blend of these technologies aims to provide a hassle-free experience, significantly reducing issues like tangles and blowouts when deploying multiple rods.
Anglers can expect the Ledge Runner in six striking colors: Amethyst Spark, Flyer Flash, Lightshow, Mahi Flash, Mai-Tai, and New Moon. The new trolling lures are priced in the range of $39.99 to $49.99, based on the selected size, making them an accessible choice for serious offshore fishing enthusiasts.
For the 160F model, key features include a swimming depth of 24 feet (7.5 meters), a length of 6.3 inches, and a weight of 3 ounces. The solid plate design enhances the lure's durability, while the thick 3mm body contributes to its longevity, making it a robust option for aggressive fish.
